How to find a wedding photographer
These are a few things you should think about when looking for the perfect wedding photographer for your big day. Here are three tips on how to find a photographer for your wedding day.
Find your preferred style of photography
Finding the style of photography you like is key to finding your wedding photographer. A photographer’s portfolio is a preview of what your wedding photographs will look like.
A photographers style is a part of their skillset. Each look requires a different set of skills and someone who shoots moody images might not be as good at shooting photos in a light and airy way.
To guarantee you’ll get the best result possible, look for a wedding photographer who is great at capturing images in the way you love.
Set your budget
What’s your budget for a wedding photographer? The budget you have can help you narrow down your search. Know how much you’re willing to spend and start searching for your photographer in that price range.
Look on social media
Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest are great resources for finding your photographer. Search hashtags related to the wedding community, check out accounts of wedding venues and wedding blogs.
Many photographers are showing their portfolio on social media, so chances of finding your perfect match here is big.
Bonus tips: Don’t be too late
Wedding photographers book up fast. Especially if you plan on getting married during high season. If you can, book your wedding photographer at least a year in advance. You’ll have a bigger range of photographers available to book.
If you’re getting married during low season, you don’t have to book quite as far in advance, but it’s always best to be safe rather than sorry. As soon as you’ve landed on a date, start looking!
