Finding your soulmate is hard enough.

Finding a wedding photographer who understands LGBTQ+ relationships is even harder.

As a lesbian woman growing up in catholic south of Italy, I’m fully aware of what it's like to be judged for who you love. 

I understand that it might be tricky to book hotel rooms for two men or that it can be overwhelming to hug in public. Many people still struggle with pronouns and many still joke about our feelings. There are still elements of the wedding industry that make you feel like you don’t belong: look at all those instagram accounts who showcase images of skinny white straight couples.

I’m writing this blog post because I want to let you know that I do understand these issues, because I’m part of the family.

Regardless of your personal journey, I believe that on your wedding day you need to feel comfortable, appreciated and respected, you need to feel part of an inclusive and safe environment where you don’t have to be afraid of holding hands in the street.

You need to be seen for what you truly are: people in love with each other. It’s like feeling at home, like you belong, like family.

Luckily here in Scandinavia we believe that all love should be celebrated, regardless of their gender and sexual orientation.

Civil partnership became legal back in 1989 and since then Denmark has proved to be one of the most advanced countries in the world when it comes to human rights. Yes, there’s still a lot to do about it, but legally there is no distinction between straight and LGBT couples.
