Hermann & Isabela
Getting married in Copenhagen
Some relationships have a rhythm you can feel instantly. With Hermann and Isabela, it was this mix of playfulness and calm that made it impossible not to notice how deeply they belong to each other.
They live in Berlin, a city they both love, but chose to get married in Copenhagen because they wanted a wedding that was entirely their own, without expectations or guests. Just the two of them.
We met before their wedding day and clicked immediately, which made them feel comfortable in front of the camera, not because they “knew how to pose”, but because the trust was already there.
One moment I’ll never forget: Hermann seeing Isabela in her wedding dress for the first time. The way he looked at her is the kind of expression you can’t direct or manufacture. It’s the stuff that reminds you why photographing relationships is such a privilege.
After their ceremony, we wandered through the streets of Copenhagen for a long walk, exploring corners of the city. When they exchanged vows in the garden of the Danish Royal Library, something shifted. They both got emotional, and the hug they shared afterward was one of those rare moments when you can feel the weight of a relationship in a single gesture.
And as a queer photographer, capturing the intimacy of two people who wanted a safe, non-intrusive space felt especially meaningful.
