suggestions from a wedding photographer
People who come to Copenhagen to elope have to face many challenges, one of which is to organize a wedding in a city they don’t know and probably they’ve never seen.
For this reason, I’ve decided to put together a list of suggestions to help you out.
This list doesn’t want to be a “complete” guide to Copenhagen in any way. It’s not a bible. It simply comes from my experience as wedding photographer and as a citizen of Copenhagen.
All the businesses in the list are LGBTQAI+ INCLUSIVE.

documentation
The legal side of getting married abroad can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Getting Married in Denmark is the only agency I recommend, and for good reason. They’re incredibly attentive, always up to date with the latest requirements, and above all — they care. Really. They treat each couple like humans, not paperwork. If you want things done right, without stress, they’re the people to have in your corner.
things to do
Copenhagen isn’t just a beautiful place to get married—it’s also a place to slow down, explore, and actually enjoy being here. Whether it’s a canal ride, a cozy wine bar, a bike tour, or just wandering through hidden courtyards, this city gives you plenty of ways to make your elopement feel like a full experience—not just a ceremony.
flower shops
You don’t need a huge bouquet or elaborate arrangements to make flowers meaningful. Sometimes it’s just one thoughtful stem, a wild little bundle, or something soft you carry in your hands to feel grounded. The florists on this list get that—and more importantly, they get you. Here, no one will question who’s carrying the bouquet, or whether it’s a boutonnière instead. Just tell them what you love, and they’ll make it feel right.

make up & hair
You don’t need heavy makeup or a complicated updo to feel beautiful. And these artists know how to bring out your natural look and make you feel like yourself — just a bit more polished, a bit more ready. They’re calm, kind, and know how to work with elopement mornings.
restaurants
One of the best parts of getting married in Copenhagen? The food. And since I’m a massive foodie, I’ve put together three guides — budget-friendly, mid-range, and fine dining — based on real experiences, not just pretty photos.
Trust me, they’re worth a look.

music
Music sets the tone — you feel it before anything else. Copenhagen Strings is one of my absolute favorites. They’re a group of classically trained musicians who bring something honest and emotional to every ceremony. It’s not just background music. It adds presence, softness, something you carry with you after the last note fades.

rentals
A few well-chosen pieces — a textured tablecloth, hand-thrown plates, candlelight that feels just right — can turn a simple dinner into something unforgettable. These rental companies offer beautifully curated tableware, furniture, and decor that elevate the mood without trying too hard. If you care about the details (and you probably do), they’re worth a look.
stationery
There’s something grounding about holding paper in your hands — especially when it’s been made with care. These two artists create wedding stationery that feels personal, textured, and lasting. From handmade seed paper to timeless letterpress, it’s not just about the invite. It’s about setting the tone before anyone even shows up.
