Getting married in Ærøskøbing
Getting married in the Danish countryside in November can be a very brave choice. The weather can completely make or break the vibe of the day, and destroy all your plans.
Aliona and Siamion’s wedding in Ærøskøbing proved that brave choices sometimes bring the best rewards. This tiny island, known for its timeless vibe - colorful houses, cobblestone streets, and cardamom pastries - gave them a rare gift: a warm, golden day. It really did feel like spring.
They reached out to me because they wanted something different: photography that wasn’t performative.
Like many people, they weren’t comfortable in front of a camera, and they needed someone who could help them relax and simply be themselves. What unfolded was a quiet celebration filled with laughter, tenderness, and the kind of connection that makes photographing relationships so meaningful.
As a Copenhagen-based wedding photographer, I often travel across Denmark for elopements and small weddings, but Ærøskøbing remains one of the most special places I’ve ever been: a reminder that beauty often lives in the simplest corners of the world.
