where to eat in Copenhagen after your wedding: budget-friendly dining (under 500 DKK per person)

We’ve eaten our way through Copenhagen
so you don’t have to guess

Not every great wedding dinner needs an expensive tasting menu. Some of the most special meals I’ve had in Copenhagen were in small, lively places where the food was honest, the mood was easy, and the price didn’t make me sweat.

If you're the kind of couple who’d rather skip the silver cloches and just share something delicious in a place that feels good — you’re in the right city. Copenhagen has a whole lineup of restaurants that keep it casual but still make the moment feel like something.

I’ve eaten at all of these. I’d happily go back to any of them. Some are loud and fun. Some are soft and moody. But all of them are under 500 DKK per person. And none of them feel cheap.

Oysters & Grill
Seafood, fries, and a rowdy atmosphere. Great if you like things messy, loud, and full of flavor. One of my absolute favorites.

Trattoria SUD
This one feels like slipping into a tiny bistro in southern Italy. House-made pasta, low lighting, and fair prices. The staff couldn’t be more Italian — in the best possible way. Dinner only.

Bistro Verde
Relaxed, with a French café feel — but here’s the twist: it’s fully vegan. That’s rare in Copenhagen, especially at this level of care and presentation. Great spot if you want to sit outside with a glass of wine and something plant-based but deeply satisfying.

Neni
Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean mix. Mezze, grilled meats, good music. Buzzier vibe, surprisingly affordable. we always go there for their falafels, they’re incredible. Crispy outside, soft inside, deeply spiced — hard to beat.

Paesàno
Lively, modern Italian eatery serving wood-fired dishes and fresh pasta. Loud in the best way. It’s also a Michelin-recognized spot — without the high-end price tag.

Donna
Casual but elevated. Cocktails, small plates, and a rotating seasonal menu. It’s popular with people in their 20s and 30s. Open for lunch as well. And it’s super close to City Hall.

Pizzeria MaMeMi & Wine Bar

Wood-fired Roman pizza and funky natural wines. Tiny, loud, and perfect. Their pizza with pancetta is the type of comfort food everybody wants. Dinner only.

Zahida
Bold Pakistani flavors in a small, stylish space. Definitely not your average curry night. It’s fully halal, too — so you can enjoy everything on the menu without hesitation.

Maven
Set inside an old church — yes, an actual church — it’s one of the most unusual and atmospheric spots in the city. Solid, seasonal Danish food. Feels special without being uptight.

Delphine
Greek-ish, airy, and always bustling. Excellent grilled fish and cocktails. Stylish and bright design, but relaxed.

Høst
Rustic-chic with a tasting menu that overdelivers. The moody, candlelit atmosphere makes it a favorite among couples looking for something intimate and memorable. Dinner only.

Cofoco
Affordable tasting menus in a cool, modern setting. A local favorite. Great value for what you get.

Villette
Charming, French-inspired, and quietly confident. Excellent wine list. Feels like a local favorite that never got too cool. The best part? The garden — lush, tucked-away, and perfect for slow sunny dinners when the weather’s right.

Vækst
Greenhouse interior, lots of plants, and a strong veggie focus. Looks more romantic than it has any right to.

Omar
Trendy, intimate, with a menu full of surprises. Hard to define — just good. Closed Sundays.

Odette
French bistro energy with Danish ingredients. Right in the middle of the city, with amazing wine and relaxed elegance.
